Quatech wireless device server, 1 port RS232, surge suppression, 5v powered port
Quatech Airborne Wireless Device Servers
* Network-enable RS-232 and RS-232/422/485 serial devices for wireless access and control
* Supports 64-bit and 128-bit WEP and WPA (TKIP/MIC) privacy protocols
* Remote Web browser-based configuration, administration and troubleshooting
* Serial Tunneling mode for connecting two serial devices over a wireless network without a PC
* Surge suppression package available for serial port
* "5V" models provide standard surge suppression and 5V power at pin 9 of the serial port
* Virtual COM drivers for Windows® NT4/2000/XP & Linux®, socket modes support other O/S
* Configure as TCP Server, TCP Client, or as both using the Quatech-exclusive AutoTCP feature
All Quatech Airborne Industrial Wireless Device Servers offer a simple, integrated configuration process and the embedded 802.11b/g wireless radio offers superior power and receive sensitivity. Combined with the industry's best processor, a PowerPC from Freescale, these models incorporate a world-class architecture that ensures compatibility with market-leading wireless infrastructures, boosts throughput and reduces latency to the lowest levels possible. This allows a broader range of serial devices to communicate over a wireless Ethernet network without modifying host software designed to use COM ports.
The SSEW-100D and DSEW-100D, wirelessly network-enable one or two RS-232 serial devices, respectively. Two other models, the SSEW-400D and the DSEW-400D, provide wireless network access to RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 devices and are software-selectable for each individual port. The remaining two models, the SSEW-100D-5V and DSEW-100D-5V, provide +5 VDC power out on the industry-standard DB-9 serial connector. These models can power many RS-232 devices such as barcode scanners and RFID readers through the serial port, eliminating the need for a dedicated power supply for those devices even while connecting them to a wireless network. Surge suppression is available on the 100D and 400D models and is standard on the 100D-5V models.
